Victorian archery champion Marcel Verstegen's target is firmly in sight.

He's heading off to Porec in Croatia later this month to compete in the world championships.

The AIM’s Indoor Barebow Championships were held both at AIM and at Morwell simultaneously on Wednesday night 3rd March.

A total of 37 archers which included seniors and juniors - the majority were shooting Barebow Recurve however we had a number of Longbow and Barebow Compound archers who joined us. It was a great night and the most barebow archers Australia has entered for the World Indoor Barebow Internet Championships!

MARCEL Verstegen laughs at the thought that Olympic sport and those who spend their lives chasing its glories have been receiving too big a hand-out from the public purse.

Saturday the 13th of June just proved the fact once more that at AIM, we not only enjoy a top archery facility with keen archers but also a busy social calendar that reminds us not to take ourselves too seriously at times.

It was great to see so many getting into the theme of our medieval party, what a fantastic effort. Congratulations to everyone on their costumes, they certainly looked the part.
